On Friday, North London-based artist Grand Pax revealed the third and final track from her new Wavey EP. Joining its alluring title-track and floaty follow up 'ATV', 'Trip' is another smokey slice of melancholy alt-pop. Set over distant, reverb-coated guitar work, moody bass chords cradle Pax' intimate vocals. Layering the lead vocal with a doubled whisper, the effect is goosebump-inducing, adding a haunting sense of slowing down, whilst vaguely trip-hop-inspired beats keep up momentum. Pax explains: “I imagined moving in a kind of slow motion, sitting back in a space...Feeling everything in a way that was being narrated.” Wavey is out now via Blue Flowers. -Holly Mullineaux
